Highlights: Sunrise in Pantanal
Today we left the stunning Pantanal but first some of us got up at 5.00 am to see a amazing sunrise. On my return to the cabin I found that Andrew had considered waking up, but decided against it 🙂

Highlights: Day Safari and wildlife spotting, Horse riding
Today we set out on a day safari of the countryside. We saw lots of different wildlife, caiman, capivara and giant river otters. With the caiman we went down to the river and slowly got closer, David even got into the water — no way would I do that.

Highlights: Mosquitoes attack, Night safari
We set of to the Pantanal today which is a large area of mostly swamp land. The roads are very rough and as we found out when we changed rides to a truck mosquitoes attack all the time. We will spend the next few days sleeping in hammocks in the same room As a group, so will find out about who snores.

Highlights: Snorkelling with topical fish
Today we went to Rio da Prata which is a private farm with a really clear river which we went snorkelling down but not swimming (swimming can cause the dirt to kick up, we float instead). This was an amazing experience and we got some great underwater photos. Martin got eaten alive by the mosquitoes as he left his back exposed during the 30 minute walk to the river.
After our hard day we enjoyed a well earned rest on hammocks, some sneaky people took photos of us sleeping. This was a great day; I really loved seeing the fish up so close and just drifting with the river tide.

Highlights: Beach fun, Snake handling
The overnight bus trip went fine and we settled into the new hotel at Bonito as soon as we arrived. We learned that the daughter of the owner was having a birthday party tonight.
