Highlights: Beach fun, Snake handling

The overnight bus trip went fine and we settled into the new hotel at Bonito as soon as we arrived. We learned that the daughter of the owner was having a birthday party tonight.

We set off for a private beach which took about 2.5 hours to walk to. I hiked with Martin in my thongs and we managed to find the place. Kelly, Karen & David actually jogged / run most of the way in the heat, crazy!

The beach was really a river in which we had heaps of fun with races to swim across the stream, playing volleyball and just chilling out next to the water and having a few beers. For the night we went to hear and see a demonstration on snakes.

Most of the presentation was not in English but I think I understand most of it. At the end we got to handle a Boa and take photos, finally the Boa got to kill and eat a big rat. The rat did manage to hurt the snake and struggled for sometime before it died.

The birthday party back at the hotel was good once we got some alcoholic supplies. We had a little dog which loved playing with our feet and we sat and drank the night away 🙂
