Highlights: David Sheldrick Elephant Refuge, Giraffe Centre
Today was a chance to explore the local area by undertaking a day tour of the nearby attractions of Nairobi. This tour was organised by the Wildebeest Eco Camp so there were three of us involved, one lady from Germany and another from Canada.

Highlights: Relaxing
Today was a very simple day relaxing at the Wildebeest Eco Camp. I woke up around 4 am local time but forced myself to sleep longer to get into the local Timezone, much easier then forcing yourself to stay awake.

Highlights: Mercedes Benz transfer, Emirates A380 First Class Bed, Dom Pérignon
I was only at the Singapore Airport for just under 2 hours most of which I spend in the Emirates First-Business Class Lounge (review here). Emirates flight EK405 boarded late around 01.38 when we were supposed to depart at 01.20.
For this flight I went straight to the bed option, choosing to take a shower 2 hours before landing and breakfast after that (full flight review here). I managed to get approximately 4 hours of solid comfortable sleep on this flight. You don’t even think you are on a plane while sleeping it’s that comfortable. (more…)

It was time to try the Emirates First Class B777-200 service after today visit to First Class Lounge (review here) and earlier A380 flights (review here and here). While the plane board on time and pushed but early that push back was only about 5 metres and we then sat at the gate for around 25 minutes which is why we ended up having a late arrival in Nairobi.

This was the the bucket list flight, a real first class international flight and I was doing it on Emirates A380 over two legs, this one Melbourne to Singapore, and Singapore to Dubai plus a later B777-200 flight Dubai to Nairobi. I was hoping the Qantas Award points would make it worth using and they definitely were.
