    The thing to keep in mind about Australia and travel is it is so far away. My return home started on Thursday evening in New York (USA), which was Friday morning back home, and it will take almost 48 hours to get back there.

    ACCESS RULES

    • Lufthansa and SWISS First Class ticket for a flight departing on the same day
    • First Class Star Alliance boarding pass for a flight departing on the same day
    • Valid HON Circle Member card and boarding pass for a Lufthansa/ Star Alliance / codeshare partner flight arriving or departing on the same day
    • Valid Senator card and boarding pass for a Lufthansa/Star Alliance/codeshare partner flight
    • Star Alliance Gold Members

    I gained access by flying Singapore Airlines First Class (Frankfurt to Singapore) during a 1 hour 50 minute stopover.

    Note: Business class passengers without status don’t get access to this lounge, First Class passengers do get access but there is a separate (and presumely better) First Class lounge making this mostly for Star Alliance Gold Members flying in business or economy.

    This was the first leg of three flights (2 different airplanes) to get back home to Melbourne, Australia. This flight provided a 1 hour 50 minute transit in Frankfurt before the next flight.

    This flight was from the John F Kennedy International (New York) to Rhein Main Airport (Frankfurt).

  • World Trip 2019: Day 21 – New York City, USA

    Highlights: Virgin Atlantic JFK Clubhouse

    Today I said goodbye to New York and the USA on the long road to returning to Australia. My flight wasn’t until 8.55 pm but you could check in with Singapore Airlines 6 hours before your flight, with hotel check out at noon I didn’t have much time to kill before catching the subway out to the airport.
