I gained access by flying Singapore Airlines First Class (Frankfurt to Singapore) during a 1 hour 50 minute stopover.
Note: Business class passengers without status don’t get access to this lounge, First Class passengers do get access but there is a separate (and presumely better) First Class lounge making this mostly for Star Alliance Gold Members flying in business or economy.
LOUNGE LOCATION
This lounge is located airside Terminal 1 near Gate B42. Lounge Opening hours: 6 AM to 10 PM (daily)
LOUNGE AREA
The lounge seats around 200 with many different comfortable seating styles.
FOOD AND DRINKS
There were drink stations at the main buffet and in the seating area.
The “City Lights” bar offers a very generous selection of alcoholic drinks and freshly brewed coffee and freshly squeezed juices.
The lounge also a selection of self-serve beer, wine, and schnapps. Soft drinks and water as well although the soft drink self service machine was not working on this visit.
Given I had eaten well on Singapore Airlines flight to Frankfurt and had more (hopefully) excellent meals on the next flight I only had a few nibbles of some scrambled eggs and a chocolate chip cookie.
FACILITIES AND SERVICES
Includes: Toilets / Showers / Wifi / Printers (no computers) / Power Charging Outlets, lockers and free newspaper and magazines.
There is a Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Spa put this is not complimentary and is expensive.
The most important visit to do this lounge during transit was use of the showers. You need to book as soon as you arrive. While waiting you are provided with a pager to let you know when the shower is available.
WHAT’S GOOD
The artificial and natural light. Many spots to charge devices. The showers.
WHAT’S NOT SO GOOD
Nothing that I noticed but I was half asleep.
SUMMARY
I was very tired when visiting this lounge so only really used it was the shower (excellent) and wifi (fair). Having lounge access during a transit it definitely worth it.
