    For the first time in 27 days I woke up with a chill in the air and some cold rain clouds gathering.  Nuwara Eliya really is a little bit English 🙂

  • World Trip 2016: Day 26 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka

    Today saw a significant change in climate as we climbed to one of the highest towns in Sri Lanka with the temperature dropping to a chilly 22 degrees with no significant humidity.

    One picture is worth a thousand words as I got to experience elephants enjoying themselves in a river.

  • World Trip 2016: Day 24 – Giritale to Kandy, Sri Lanka

    Monday 1 August 2016.  Photos and Videos.
    Highlights: Polonnaruwa Ruins, Dambulla Rock Temple, Kayanwala village (including canoe trip), and Herbs and Spices Garden (including back massage)

    Today was an epic adventure with multiple activities to make up for those that were postponed yesterday.  In many ways I was lucky with yesterday’s postponements as one of those activities I would have missed since I was meeting up with the group later in the day.  

    To make access to religious site easier today I put to good use my recently purchased sarong, yes I’ve finally gone native 🙂 (more…)

    This morning was a simple day with a late checkout at 9.30 am followed by a drive of 2 hours to join up with the Best of Sri Lanka & Test Cricket tour which officially commenced last night.
