SUMMARY
A very nice modern and large Business Class Lounge that allows some limited views of the tarmac from the under side of the airplanes. Very pleasant staff and a good range of food (loved the ANZAC biscuits).
I found this better than the Singapore Airlines SilverKris (Business Class) Melbourne Lounge that I visited later and where most travellers on Singapore Airlines would visit.
ACCESS RULES
- Business Class Customers (including departing on other Star Alliance Flights)
- Airpoints Elite, Gold, and Koru members
- Star Alliance Gold members
- Varied access rights depending on Airline Partnership agreements
I gained access by flying Singapore Airlines Business Class (Melbourne to Singapore) as they are part of the Star Alliance.
LOUNGE LOCATION
This lounge is located airside in the Terminal 2 Satellite Concourse Level 1 (basement area the lowest level) near Gate 6. While Business Lounges are located in this Terminal this one requires you to take two escalators down.
Lounge Opening hours: Opens from 4:45 until 22:30.
LOUNGE AREA
The lounge has approximately 250 seats available over a large area. Most seats have a combination of pink swivel chairs and grey single-seater leather chairs. The leather chairs are laid out in pairs, some facing, others backing-on to each other.
There is also a buffet and dining room, open TV area, children’s play area, luggage storage room.

FOOD AND DRINKS
The dining is buffet style with hot dish options. At the time I visited (4.15 pm local time) which included stir-fry noodles, chicken scailopini in mushroom sauce, and soups.

Pastry items include Danish tart, croissants, spicy fruit loaf, ANZAC cookies, and muffins. Cold dishes included yoghurt, apples, fruit salad, almond & coconut milk.

There is no bar in the lounge either, instead there is a self-serve spirits section and coffee machine. Beverages available include soft drinks, wines and juices but also New Zealand beverages including local wine, bubbles and craft beer.

FACILITIES AND SERVICES
Includes: Toilets / Showers (8) / Wi-Fi (medium speed) / Printers (no computers) / Power Charging Outlets.
There are eight showers with toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner and body lotion can be found within the showers and shavers that can be requested. The shower had strong water pressure and was nice on the warm setting.

WHAT’S GOOD
- Nature light (rare for lounges in this location)
- The open, spacious and beautifully appointed spaces and areas
- Large number of showers.

WHAT’S NOT SO GOOD
- No bar
