World Trip 2006 – Day 8: Balule Nature Reserve, South Africa

Wednesday 5 April 2006
Highlights: Sleeping in a Nature Reserve, Giraffes, Zebras and spiders!

Had a wonderful night’s sleep, you should try sleeping out with nature; elephants make interesting noises early in the morning.   We started with an early morning walk and along other things Jan (guide) bought out a nasty looking spider, I stayed way back!.

We got close to giraffes and zebras, I had an experience of a giraffe looking directly at me at eye level as he was on lower ground, brilliant!

Later that night we went on a night game ride.  My camera didn’t take any good photos (other than us in the game drive truck) but I got to sit in the prime game hunting seat which is at the front of the vehicle, nice.  Obviously we were only looking for game not hunting them.
