Travelling with a group as part of the G Adventures High Road to Tibet tour we had an included return flights between Kathmandu (Nepal) and Lhasa (Tibet). The first leg was in economy (trip report here).

Highlights: Train to Lhasa, bargaining for souvenirs (but not very well)
The day was dominated by severe swelling in my face. Yesterday afternoon my face swelled up like a ballon on the left side which today started expanding to front as well.

Today was the last Tibetan Monastery visit of the tour and it was to the fifth largest in Tibet – the Tashilunpo Monastery.

We it turns out trying to sleep above 5,000 metres is no easy task. During the night I consistently woke up requiring water as the air is so dry at this altitude. When the electric blanket kicked in at 1 am I eventually removed my jeans but otherwise slept with the some layers from yesterday.
