    This was the big exploring day, a chance to explore Bali outside of Kuta with the help of a local driver Made Dana.   A work colleague supplied my with Dana’s details and I found him to be very good at finding great places to visit.

  • Bali 2017: Day 4 – Kuta (Bali), Indonesia

    Today was all about relaxation and being pampered.  A sleep in to 9 am followed by a leisurely breakfast than saw us wonder town to the Kuta Town Centre.  We arrived at the Discovery Shopping Centre as they were opening at 10 am and not longer after witnessed the staff of the centre engage in a morning dance.  Some staff looked very happy but a few definitely were just going though the motions.

  • Bali 2017: Day 3 – Kuta and Uluwatu (Bali), Indonesia

    After another lovely buffet breakfast at the Bali Dynasty Resort H2O resturant. Today Erin joined the Kids Club and the rest of us headed down to central Kuta and the Discovery Shopping Centre.  The walk along the beach once again provided stunning views.  The shopping centre didn’t turn out to be very impressive so it was decided to head out for some street shopping.

    The family holiday really begins today starting with a family breakfast buffet at the Bali Dynasty Resort H2O Restaurant which was included with the package.  Even getting from our room to the buffet you could smell the holiday air as the local ducks walked across our path and children were running around excited.

  • Bali 2017: Day 1 – Melbourne to Denpasar and Kuta (Bali), Indonesia (via Sydney)

    I booked this trip with Qantas under a special promotion that would finally get me to lifetime gold membership with Qantas after 14.5 years which would get me free Lounge access and seat selection for life on Oneworld Alliance airlines. This trip also let me undertake a visit to the QF Sydney International First Class Lounge for the first time ever, this Lounge is rated in Top 5 and Top 10 International Lounges of the world regularly.
