Highlights: Travel day by boat and public yellow school bus
Travel day from Caye Caulker to San Ignacio which meant a 45 minute water boat ride back to the mainland and away from paradise, literary since that was the name of our hotel!
From here we moved to the public ‘school’ bus with our bags stacked onto seats and people standing in the aisle. This time we had the added benefit of rain though our air conditioning system known as the opened window 🙂
It was interesting to see that the houses in Belize use really bright colours for their houses, lots of reds, greens, pinks and purples.
Our new hotel is a eco style setup. Limited lights, cold showers you have to walk to that use rain water and a compost toilet. All of this with a little hut that can be hard to walk to in the dark. I think they would call this a rustic hotel.
