Highlights: Relaxing at the airport
Today was a chance to do basically nothing. I slept in until around 8.45 am and only really got up to go to buffet breakfast. As I had no plans to actually buy lunch I took my time and had a very fully breakfast. As a Hilton Gold member breakfast was included but not the tip. Unfortunately the waitress didn’t take US dollars and since I hadn’t gotten Mexican Pesos I promised to make it up tomorrow.
I did try to purchase my Cuban Tourist Card but was informed you do it at checkin and Cubana Airlines only flight had left at 8.45 am the same one I’m catching tomorrow. I did withdraw some local currency 3,000 pesos which is approximately $220 Australian. This goes with the roughly $300 US dollars I’m carrying, the £60 I exchanged with Kirsty way back in Thailand and the €200 Euros I withdrew in Madrid for exchange in Cuba. I hope I don’t get robbed!
The rest of the day was spent updating my blog, looking into my upcoming tours, working out options and downloading some movies. I had an early dinner at the airport McDonalds which I really need to stop doing but it was convenient and cheap. Tomorrow hopefully I’ll get my tourist card and be off to Cuba.
