Highlights: Last minute Brazilian Visa Success!
We got up late (8.50 am) and headed down for breakfast which was packed with people. After breakfast I went for a short walk to get my steps up while Andrew caught up with his e-mail.
We checked out just before noon and walked to the Brazilian Embassy to await our travel fate. We took up residence at the McDonald’s across the street and waited to 2 pm hoping to pick up the visas in time to make our later flight today.
It turged out no problems at all, unless you count the stress of realising you need the visa while traveling instead of organising months ago! With visas in hand to took off to the airport, we even got to the airport early allowing us to get a light meal in the lounge (no meal on the Domestic flight to Miami). The travel gods were smiling on us this day.
The flight from New York left a little late and was very bumpy. On arrival in Miami we quickly realised that the New York to Miami flight we were on becomes the Miami to Rio flight so no excuses for our bags not to make the trip and impossible to miss the flight connection 🙂
So we now have an overnight flight to Rio and hopefully a chance to see a little of the city before the tour starts on Sunday.
