Highlights: Exploring Central Park, ‘Avenue Q’ Show
Today was fairly relaxed, well it was after we found the answer to the question how many Aussies does it take to turn on a shower, well we still don’t know the answer other than one American hotel staff member.
We started with a great breakfast at our new hotel and eventually headed off to Central Park to explore this huge park. Our successfully completed task was walking from one end to the other checking out the sights like the giant ice skating rink and the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis lake, the classic bridges were great to walk under and around.
We ended up talking to a local dog owner who was eyeing Andrew’s New York hot dog. From here Andrew had us go to the US Open tennis store which took us pass the famous Carnegie Hall. Andrew was like a kid in the candy (tennis) store but he knew he couldn’t buy anything so it was part torture for him.
Andrew selected an off broadway show called Avenue Q for us to attend. Warning – this show has full puppet nudity. I found it a very funny show, one of the characters had an understudy performing, if she was the understudy I can’t imagine how good the normal actor was. The theatre itself was interesting being underground. The show used cartoons at key points as well. Very good choice Andrew.
