World Trip 2009: Day 27 – Dahab, Egypt

Wednesday 17 June 2009
Highlights: Snorkelling in the Red Sea

Today we went swimming in the Red Sea or should I say snorkelling. It was great fun and I got to see lots of different colourful fish. There were a couple of ladies who swam dressed head to toe, likely due to religious and cultural norms, so that was an experience in itself. I assisted several of my follow travellers, Amy had problems with her gear and Gloria needed a little help swimming.

Personally I ended up drinking some of the sea at one point but it was good fun. We got a big lunch at the national park after a couple of swims. I got some great shots of the group in the water after I decided a few hours in the sea were enough and I had to be careful regarding the strong sun. I later realised my bald head was very close to getting burnt so protection was in order for the rest of the trip.
