World Trip 2006: Day 94 – Barcelona, Spain

Friday 30 June 2006
Highlights: Sangria, flamenco dancing

On this extremely hot day I only visited some award winning buildings designed by Atoni Gaudi (1852-1926) who has a very interesting style.

During the night however I headed out for a Tapas and Flamenco evening.   The tapas were fantastic I can see why they have food this way, small bits of everything and the sangria, which is made with red wine, chopped fruits and or orange juice, was excellent.   Off we headed to a flamenco club and you have to see it to believe it.   The music was outstanding but the dancing blow me away, how they can dance like that I don’t know.

I put my flamenco experience right up there with my jazz night in New Orleans back in 1999, this was that good.   We finally headed off to a pub and listened to some live (English) music and had a few shots.   A great evening.
