  • World Trip 2019: Day 1 – Melbourne to Dallas, USA

    Highlights: Qantas Business Class domestic and international flights, Travel chaos

    Day 1 really started the night before on the Thursday. I returned from a Canberra work trip, came home changed, had a quick dinner with a friend and said goodbye to my young cats Boots and Juno. From here a train trip from the city to Broadmeadows and a pick up to stay at my mum’s. Everything seemed good.

  • Flight Review – QF007 Sydney to Dallas

    Distance: 13,804 kms

    This was the second leg of three flights to get to Bogotá, Colombia. The first flight was a domestic flight Melbourne to Sydney which was first cancelled and my replacement flight was then delayed. First flight was delayed by 6 hours as a result of Sydney Airport only using one runway due to windy weather.

    This flight was almost the reverse of my previous Dallas to Brisbane flight taken back in February 2013 which was slightly shorter distance at 13,363 kms compared to this flights 13,804.

    This was the first leg of three flights to get to Bogotá, Colombia. I was originally booked on a flight that would have left at 09.00 (QF418) but was cancelled due to significant problems at Sydney Airport. As a result I ended up having 1 hour to transfer from the domestic terminal to international terminal.
