Highlights: Universal Studios Singapore

The last day of this trip with a fun activity had suddenly arrived. After a comfortable sleep in Crowne Plaza Changi Airport Hotel we took our main bags to be checked in to the Jewel Early Bag Check in facility. For Jetstar this allows you to drop your bags 12 hours before the flight.

Following this we got breakfast at a French Bakery in the Jewel area. We then returned to our room, booked a ride share (Grab is the service in Singapore not Uber), checked out and left our day bags with reception while we went to Universal Studios Singapore.

It was a hot and humid day, so basically a normal day in Singapore. The ride share drop us off at the Casino on Sentosa Island which is the closest point cars can get to the theme park. It costs $92.00 SGD for a standard entry ticket.

Across the day we had the following experiences:

  • Shrek (4D experience)
  • Puss in Boots (ride)
  • Trolls Hug Time (music show)
  • Sesame Street In Space (ride)
  • Transformers (ride)
  • Cylon (ride which Darby did by herself)
  • The Mummy’s Revenge (ride)
  • Waterworld (show)

We also so Kung Fu Panda and Minnon characters walking around and some live street music.

I’d have to say both the Transformers and The Mummy’s Revenge were the best rides with Waterworld being the best show.

We left the theme park and headed back to our hotel to pick up our day bags around 5.30 pm. Once we had our bags back we headed into Terminal 1 so we could access the Qantas Business Class Lounge for free food and drinks and for me a much needed shower and change of clothes. I sweat a lot when it is hot and humid.

Having lounge access is a great way to relax before a flight. Around 1.5 hours before our flight we then got the Terminal transfer bus to Terminal 4. This took about 30 minutes as Terminal 4 isn’t well integrated at Changi Airport.

Sitting at the boarding gate I started to reflect on the adventures Darby and I had experienced. This trip seemed so long when booked but was over so quickly. I take this has a good sign that we were very engaged with the locations, the activities and the touring group.

Now for an overnight flight home and to get my cats back (if they will take me).
