Highlights: The Jewel Water Show

One of the major downsides of living in Australia is how far away for the majority of the world we are. Returning back takes a long time. The first leg getting back was Split to Helsinki (3 hours), than a major transit (8 hours) followed by Helsinki to Singapore (13 hours).

Today was the Helsinki to Singapore flight (review here). The positives were having an empty seat next to me (which Darby had as well) and the flight was faster than scheduled by one hour (‘only’ 12 hours 20 minutes).

After the flight and our bags showing up we headed to Crowne Plaza Changi Hotel. I booked this expensive hotel to make life easier for today and tomorrow. I did struggle to find the right entrance for the hotel which is accessed from Terminal 3, we landed in Terminal 1, but did eventually.

While both Darby and me were tired we wanted to adjust to the new time zone and get back to a time zone similar to Australia’s for our return on Tuesday. To that end we watched the Barbie movie and later visited the massive Jewel airport facility.

We timed our arrival just right and got to watch the stunning water and light show in the centre of the complex.

After this we had dinner and discussed the complexities of life and death (we really discussed this). Being tired we returned to our hotel and our comfortable beds with one more full day of activities to do tomorrow.
