World Trip 2024: Day 30 – Split to Helsinki, Finland

Highlights: Finnair Non-Schengen Business Class Lounge

Today is the start of the long journey home. Six of us had organised to go to the airport together – Theresa, Ivan, Megan, Alexa, Darby and myself. We had breakfast together and order an Uber van. T

he vehicle that showed up however was not a van, if we had somehow gotten in it would have been a clown car! Our second Uber however could handle 6 passengers, a nice way to keep costs low, especially if the airport a little bit away.

The Split Airport is very interesting in that it doesn’t have airline counters but instead the airport counters are to check in everyone. Kayla also showed up and we all waited together for our various flights recalling our trip. Before we knew it our three hour flight Split to Helsinki was ready to leave (review here).

At Helsinki Airport we landed in the Schengen area of the airport. Darby and I walked around the airport to stretch our legs before going through Border Control.

We then entered the Finnair Non-Schengen Business Class Lounge and settled in for the long transit. Darby continued to kick my ass in Word of Wonders and we both enjoy the food and drinks (review here).
