Lounge Review: Finnair Non-Schengen Business Class Lounge Helsinki

SUMMARY

This Finnair Non-Schengen Lounge located in Finnair’s hub has everything a business class lounge is supposed to have and more. I found this to be a very pleasant way to spend 6 plus hours while in transit.

The soft music, the smooth wall colours and the wide range of seating options and areas sets a nice scene. Add in the multiple food options and soft drink, water, beers (local and international, wine), juices and a number of cocktails make this a good place to relax before a long haul flight.

ACCESS RULES

  • Business Class passengers on Finnair or Oneworld Airline flights
  • Oneworld Emerald or Sapphire Member on Oneworld airlines
  • Finnair Plus Platinum Lumo, Finnair Plus Platinum, Finnair Plus Gold flying on Finnair

I gained access as Qantas Lifetime Gold Member flying on a Finnair flight Helsinki to Singapore in economy.

LOUNGE LOCATION

The lounge is located in the Non-Schengen area of the airport past Border Control near Gate 52.

Lounge Opening hours: Opens at 06:00 and closed at midnight (my flight left 00:25 just after the lounge closes).

Note: There is a separate Platinum Wing lounge for Highest statuses members (Oneworld Emerald).

LOUNGE AREA

The lounge is a huge area, at reception you turn left for the Business Class Lounge area, or for Platinum Lounge you walked straight ahead.

The Lounge has two main areas. The first is mostly for seating, the second is where the food stations are located with more casual and relaxing seating plus a mor formal eating area.

There are no tarmac views from this lounge or any significant natural light.

FOOD AND DRINKS

In the dining area there is as three food tables. The first is mostly bread but was also serving soup. The second table is the biggest and serves fruit, hot food (chicken dishes and rice), and cold food including cakes. The third and final table had additional fruit and a selection of cookies.

FACILITIES AND SERVICES

Includes: Toilets / Shower suites (5) / Wi-Fi (same as airport) / Power Charging Outlets at every seat (including USB charging).
