Highlights: Trying a local special sweet – trdelnik, Climbing Petrin Hill Tower and observing beautiful Prague

One of the less attractive aspects of travel is laundry. So today after breakfast we set off to a laundromat which took 30 minutes to walk, around 1.5 hours for wash and drying cycles and 30 minutes coming back. So while we lost the morning we still had the afternoon to explore Prague one last time.

First up was a search for local special sweet – trdelnik. These are a cinnamon pastry (like a doughnut) in the sharp of a tube then fill with ice cream (or just cream) and other assorted treats. It tasted amazing, I’m surprised this is made everywhere in the world!

Later in the afternoon Christin kindly offered to take a number of the group up Petrin Hill to get a better view of this beautiful city. This meant a ride first in a local tram and then using a funicular to get up the hill which is always a fun way to travel.

We then walked to Perrin Hill Tower which is 59 metres high and after paying an entrance fee climbed 299 steps stopping first at the mid-point viewing platform, and finally at the top viewing platform. It was surprisingly winding at the top.

The view of Prague from this height highlights the beauty of this city.

Tomorrow we move onto Český Krumlov for one afternoon and night of exploring.
