World Trip 2012-13: Day 137 – Panama City to Dallas, USA

Highlights: Flight back to USA and easy Border Control experience!

I woke up early as usual before travelling this was before my alarm not enough time to get to sleep again so I just waited a while before hitting the shower. Turned out not to be a great idea as my pickup driver turned up 20 minutes early.

At reception they tried to charge me for another nights stay obviously confused by me independent stay on the first night here. The drive to the airport took over 30 minutes. Despite not doing my normal get to the airport 3 hours enforce flight I was fine as I had a business class ticket so checkin was very fast. Border control unfortunately took awhile. No airport lounge to rest in :(. As this was a flight to the USA they had another security check at the gate.

The flight lasted just under 5 hours and they had an in flight movie. Landing in the USA almost felt like returning home. Arriving feeling fresh was a new experience as well. Clearing border control was easy, much much better than the Los Angeles experiences.

I’m staying at the Embassy Suites DFW which is a free night using my points from my earlier Hilton stays. Free wifi, included breakfast and two free drinks came with the Hilton Gold membership. Staying in a suite with a lounge room in a welcome but of luxury before leaving tomorrow night for home.
