Highlights: Flight back to USA and easy Border Control experience!
I woke up earlier than my alarm with not enough time to get to sleep again so I just waited a while before hitting the shower. This turned out not to be ideal as my pickup driver turned up 20 minutes early.
At reception they tried to charge me for another nights stay obviously confused by my independent stay on the first night here. The drive to the airport took over 30 minutes. Despite not doing my normal get to the airport 3 hours before an international flight I was fine as I had a business class ticket making checkin very fast. Border control unfortunately took awhile. No airport lounge to rest in before the flight either :(.
As this was a flight to the USA they had another security check at the gate.
The flight lasted just under 5 hours and they had an in flight movie. Landing in the USA almost felt like returning home. Arriving feeling fresh was a new experience as well. Clearing border control was easy, much much better than the Los Angeles experiences.
I’m staying at the Embassy Suites DFW which is a free night using my points from my earlier Hilton stays. Free wifi, included breakfast and two free soft drinks came with the Hilton Gold membership. Staying in a suite with a lounge room is a welcome bit of luxury before leaving tomorrow night for home.
