Highlights: Showering in the Admirals Lounge, Hilton Capital room upgrade
How do people handle multiple flights over 30 hours without lounge access? I arrived in Miami very early in the morning with a 7 hour layover before the next 2 USA domestic flights. The Admirals Lounge meant a shower, a change of clothes and a more relaxed Nathan 🙂
The Miami to Dallas flight was uneventful but waiting for my bag after 30 minutes I realised it wasn’t coming 😦 After much searching the airline worked out it arrived earlier and was in another terminal. Retrieving my bag I checked in again this time for Dallas to Washington DC (Reagan International).
I eventually located my mum for our next 8 days together. Apparently she was concerned I wasn’t there and they had been paging me a few times, however I was in another terminal hunting down my bag. My mum is really looking forward to this trip, especially the Washington leg.
For this next flight I sat in First Class which is roughly like a business seat Melbourne to Brisbane, maybe a little better. The pasta dinner and free drinks was better than the small drink my mum got in couch. I would have traded seats but after 3 previously flights I needed the extra space.
The Reagan International Airport is incredibly close to the Washington CBD so we took a taxi only ousting $20 USD which includes airport tax and tip. At the Hilton Capital they upgraded us to the Executive Level meaning access to the Executive Lounge, which meant free cookies and drinks!
