Highlights: Arc de Triumph, Auguste Rodin’s House, Stunning night bike ride
I was a man on a mission today as this is my last chance in Paris to see some things I had missed last time so as soon as I arrived from Antwerp I was off exploring.
I quickly walked down from my hostel to the Arc de Triumph and it is an amazing monument created on the orders of Napoleon who unfortunately for him was defeated before it was finished.
I really had wanted to see Auguste Rodin’s House and today was my chance. Rodin was the creator of statues like ‘The Kiss’ and ‘The Thinker’ and ‘The Gates of Hell’. Incredible works of art.
I finished the night with a night bike tour. I was joined by a group of USA graduating high school students. The tour include most of the major sites (Notre Dame etc) but the real highlight was taking a boat on the Seine at night and seeing the Eiffel Tower in lights. I have to say the girls got drunk on the free wine (remember 21 is the drinking age in the US this was not allowed back home). A great way to finish at Paris especially after the way I left it last time.
