World Trip 1999-2000: Day 80 London, England

Friday 28 January 2000
Highlights: Westminster, St Paul’s Church Evensong performance

Well we got into London a little early at 9.30 am.  The flight took over 10 hours.  I think next time we will check in separately as everyone else had a bonus spare seat.  After 80 days travelling together I think a spare seat apart would be fine 🙂

The Underground Train system is excellent with a direct connection from the airport to the city.  While expense I guess everything is as the poind is so strong.  After getting some much needed money from American Express we headed to how new base at Notting Hill.

We got a cheap 15 pond per person hotel style room which is incredibly cheap.  You need to times the cost by at least 2.5 times to get the real price.

We went back out and got a few photos around Westminster and visited St Paul’s Church for an ‘evensong’ service, lots of singing and music.  At ‘evensong’ the choir mostly sings with only two gospel readings by the priest.  Jon fell to sleep for a minute or two, I guess jetlag will be a factor.
