Highlights: Mini Golf fun, Ice Spectacular: Spirits of the Season, Production Showtime: Invitation to Dance.
My first full day on Explorer of the Seas. I slept well last night. The ship movements are very minimal, nothing like the catamaran I recently sailed on in the Galapagos Islands.
After a warm shower (good water pressure), I headed to the Main Dining Room (MDR) for breakfast. It appears a large number of people go to the buffet for breakfast but my research informed me that the MDR is a good option as the food is cooked after you order it. I enjoyed orange juice, cornflakes, and pancakes.
After breakfast, I went out to explore the ship more. This time I went to the back of the ship and found the games area which included the WaveRider, slides, table tennis, video game machines, multi-purpose sporting courts, and mini golf. I played 9 holes of mini golf and finished -3 which I consider a good score in the wind.

During the day I went to my first on-board production, Ice Spectacular: Spirits of the Season. Who would have thought I’d enjoy the ice-skating show in the Caribbean?

A very enjoyable show that had different seasonal themes from January to December.
Today I used the Main Dining Room for both Lunch (only open for lunch on Sea Days) and Dinner. A very nice experience. Dinner was formal night which meant most people dressed up. For me, I dressed up as best I could, jeans and a nice top.
After dinner I went to my second on-board production, Production Showtime: Invitation to Dance. This show had a range of dances and songs covering Ballroom and Latin dancing.
High-energy performances.

After the show, I tried my luck at the Casino and it went as expected losing quickly. At least I can sign off the Casino experience as being done.
