Highlights: Using the Sala VIP International Quito Lounge, Erin finding out she got into her perferred University Course
We started our last day in Ecuador with a nice buffet breakfast at the hotel and then took a nice walk around El Ejido Park which was right across from the Hilton Colon Hotel.
We enjoyed the fresh air and recalled all the activities over the last 24 days and realised we had done something every single day without a break. The Galapagos tour in particular had been very full on.

I was very impressed that Erin could recall almost everything we had done. We each nominated our top three activities from the three legs of the trip; 1) USA, 2) Ecuador, and 3) Galapagos.
When we got back to our hotel room Erin suddenly got very excited. She found out so got into her University and the Degree she wanted. A very exciting early Christmas gift for Erin. Back home it was 1 am when she got the e-mail. She left a voice message for her mum and dad and another surprise was when Kara called back (1.30 am Melbourne time) to congratulate Erin.
Erin was pumped for the next few hours. The next stage of her life is about to begin.
We checked out of the hotel and got a taxi to the airport. It took around 45 minutes and cost $40 USD.
We had to wait roughly 15 minutes for check-in counters to open. It took a while to get served but eventually were checked in and cleared by Security and Border Control.
We then accessed the Sala VIP International Quito Lounge which was a very good lounge (review here).
Our flight from Quito to Maimi turned out to be a good experience (review here).
Border Control at Maimi was a bit of a pain but that is to be expected about most USA entry points. After getting our bags we found the hotel shuttle and checked into the Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel & Executive Meeting Center. Luckily we had access to the Hotel Lounge and got some finger food for our dinner.
Erin finished the night reading about our her friends went with their University offers.
