Highlights: Coastal ride around San Cristobal Island, Snorkelling, Exploring a beautiful beach, Searching for sea life and finding Orcas!
For our first activity of the day, we had the option of doing a ‘Power Hike’ at Pitt Point on San Cristobal Island (physical condition needed: High) or you could do a zodiac ride around the coast. Erin opted for the power hike whereas I opted for the coastal ride.
The coastal ride went for an hour and we saw stunning landscapes and a lot of animals in and out of the water.

We returned to the catamaran for an hour’s break while the main group completed their hike. We rejoined the main group on San Cristobal Island for snorkelling but most went back to our catamaran, including Erin, likely tired from the power hike.
I got to enjoy another snorkel. I followed various fish, mostly the colourful ones and I tried not to be pushed into the rock walls (which is where most of the fish stay). There were strong currents in the area and the visibility wasn’t great but still an enjoyable time in the water.

After lunch, our ship moved to a different point on San Cristobal Island Finger Hill. We did a wet landing and explored a beautiful beach. I enjoyed watching the waves crash on the shore as this area felt like another planet from the one I live on back home.

Back on the Reina Silvia Voyager, we met on the bridge to explore the sea and luck had it that we found some orcas swimming near us.
We also got a great view of Kicker Rock.

Omar then took us back to the Bridge to describe how everything works and the backups. It does help to know the safety measures in place.
