My next world trip is now only 105 days with my Southern Caribbean cruise 132 days to go.
While the main point of this trip is to explore Ecuador with my niece with time around the countryside including in Amazon and then a major yacht experience in the Galapagos Islands.
However taking advantage of flying back from Quito, Ecuador to Maimi, USA which is a major port for cruising to the Cairbbean so I added on a solo cruise of the southern Caribbean region.

Today I’ve finalised my perferred shore excursion for each port. While you can book these excursions outside the cruise company, in my case Royal Caribbean, being my first cruise of this type I booked direct as cruise company guarrantees you won’t miss sailing time.
- Labadee Historic Walking Tour
(Labadee, Haiti) - Labadee Traditions
(Labadee, Haiti) - Ghosts & Legends of Old San Juan
(San Juan, Puerto) - Catamaran Sail and Snorkel
(Philipsburg, St Maarten) - Amazing Jeep and Catamaran
(Castries, St Lucia) - Antigua Land and Sea
(St John’s, Antigua) - Caribbean Scenic Rail & Sail
(Basseterre, St Kitts & Nevis)
Details of the Shore Excursions.

In figuring out what I wanted to do I tried to get a good mix of historic sights and enjoying the waters of the Caribbean. After the excursions in most ports I should get time to explore by myself as well.
I’ve always wanted to visit the Caribbean and try a cruise. This might open up new ways to visit and explore as I get older. I’ve started looking into the on cruise experiences and hopefully they will be enjoyable as well.
Time to do more research and increase my excitement for this new region and travel format.
