Travel Plans – 2024, 2025 and beyond

Petra, Jordan

While my focus is on my upcoming trip with my niece to Ecuador and the USA late November 2024, plus my add on solo trip cruising the Caribbean to Haiti, Puerto Rico, St Maarten, Antigua, St Lucia, St Kitts & Nevis, plans for possible future travel are starting to come into focus.

I’m currently planning on one final trip with my nephew which will have resulted in me sharing small of the world with every niece and nephew I have.  This world trip is tentatively scheduled for 2025 and would involve visiting Qatar, Jordan, Spain, Portugal and Morocco.  The highlight would be exploring Petra in Jordan, one of the modern wonders of the world.

I’ve been fortunate enough to achieve 63 life objectives I originally set myself in my 20s and that I’ve revised and added to as I’ve gotten older.  The 2024 and 2025 trips would see me experiencing several more items from my Bucket List – To Do. 

For my 2024 Ecuador, USA and Caribbean trip I should experience:

  • Taking a Caribbean cruise (no. 2)
  • Snorkel in The Galapagos Islands (no. 6)
  • Visit the Florida Keys (no. 9)
  • Visit the Amazon (no. 10)

For my probable 2025 Qatar, Jordan, Spain, Portugal and Morocco trip I’d get to experience:

  • Visiting my seventh and last Wonders of the Modern World in Petra (no. 3)
  • Float in The Dead Sea (no. 11)

One of my ultimate goals was to visit 100 countries.  After my 2024 and 2025 trips I should have experienced 94 countries (currently 83 countries).  Some countries I’d still like to visit include Bhutan, Greece, Greenland, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. 

The fjords in Norway or the islands and ancient cities of Greece sound like a great way to celebrate my 100th country visited.  I’ve been so fortunate to live a life that has allowed me the opportunities to do so me much, buy a home, while having enough money travel including with family and friends. It’s a privilege to have such opportunities and taking advantage of my circumstances has led to incredible and life changing experiences.

A lot of research to be done. Hopefully meeting new people during my upcoming trips will help inspire my next travel destinations.
