Star Alliance Gold members are direct to the separate Turkish Airlines Miles and Smiles Lounge instead.

I gained access by flying Singapore Airlines Business Class (Istanbul to Singapore) as they are part of the Star Alliance.

LOUNGE LOCATION
This lounge is located airside in near Gate E1. You go up escalators to access.

Lounge Opening hours: Open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

LOUNGE AREA
The lounge has significant number of seats in various styles. The highlight might be the reading room style. There is a golf practise simulation, and an area to view multiple TVs at once.

There is also a Kids play area. There are other entertainments as well that I saw including a Grand Piano and what looked like a miniature car racing game.

A secure storage locker area is also available.

FOOD AND DRINKS
The dining is buffet style with many different stations located across the lounge. At the time I visited (noon) hot food included stir-fry noodles, Turkish dishes and soups.

Pastry items include biscuits, cookies, and muffins. Cold dishes included yoghurt, apples, carrots, and fruit salad.

There were various cooking stations that made dishes while you watched. I tried an Egyptian pastry.

There is no bar in the lounge however there is a barista service and other self serve coffee and tea stations. Alcohol is self serve just look out for the serving carts. The are also various fridges with canned and bottled soft drinks and beers.

FACILITIES AND SERVICES
Includes: Toilets / Wi-Fi (must register, medium speed) / Printers & iMac computers) / Power Charging Outlets / Baggage lockers

WHAT’S GOOD

  • Natural light
  • The open, spacious and beautifully appointed spaces and areas
  • Food cooked in front of you at cooking stations
  • Self serve Alcohol, Soft Drinks and Water
  • Secure luggage storage

WHAT’S NOT SO GOOD

  • The Lounge can be far from your boarding gate in this huge airport. Leave enough time to get to your gate
  • A shower would be ideal
